The 6 Nations Tournament was created in 2000 when Italy joined England, France, Ireland, Scotland and Wales in what was then known as the 5 Nations Tournament.

There are different cups available in the 6 Nations;

If 1 of Wales, Scotland, Ireland or England beat the other 3 they win the Triple Crown.

Whoever finishes top of the league table with the most points (or best points difference if totals are tied) wins the Championship.

If you win all your games you achieve a Grand Slam and naturally win the Triple Crown and Championship.

Ireland are defending champions after winning their first Grand Slam since 1948.

The 6 Nations is the premier annual rugby competition and is only behind the World Cup in those years.
